Aspen Highlands Ski Season Extended One Week

March 25th, 2007

The Aspen Skiing Company just announced that the Aspen Highlands ski season has been extended for one week - the mountain will close on April 8 instead of the scheduled April 1 closure.  “Highland Bowl has the best skiing in the state, if not the country, right now,” said Rich Burkley, vice president, mountain operations, Aspen Skiing Company. “Combine that with strong occupancy forecasts and no immediate need for lift or trail work on the mountain this spring, and it seems everything is lined up for this extension.  It may not be the power of four, but the power of three isn’t bad either.”  Aspen Mountain and Snowmass will close on April 15 as scheduled.  Buttermilk Mountain will close on April 1 as previously scheduled.
